摘要：

A digital videotex communication system is scheduled to start as a part of the INS Model System in February 1985. For this system a communication processor called PSTOC has been developed. Connecting information centers in a commercial videotex system to the INS Model System, PSTOC provides information retrieval services. Equipped with storage units for mailboxes, PSTOC also provides a mailbox service. To achieve reliable automatic operation, PSTOC utilizes advanced architectures such as CPU duplication, remote operation monitor, etc. This paper describes the design guidelines, structure and functions of PSTOC.
