摘要：
The paper introduces a method of correlation of the casting parameters in vertical continuous casting which, ultimately, may result in optimization of the process. Though the major part of experimental investigation was carried out with commercially pure aluminum, copper, brass, gun metal, and cast iron were also tackled. Common defects, their prediction by correlation of variables and elimination by adjustment of casting parameters are discussed.
