A study is made of the mechanism of occurrence of seizure of a drill pipe during the simultaneous action of temperature, pressure, and rotational movement on the pipe. It is found that under the action of high pressure and temperature gradients the seizure force greatly increases. The mechanical action of the pipe on the filtration crust, all other conditions being equal, also leads to an increase in the seizure force. Recommendations are made regarding ways to increase the effectiveness of seizure elimination.
