摘要
During the drying of vegetable tanned leathers or heavily vegetable retanned leathers there frequently is a problem with an uneven darkening of shade commonly called 'oxidation'. This treatise discusses the causes of and cures for this defect. Adequate setting or wringing can solve this problem. 'Quick drying' tan stain is promoted by too low a humidity, too high a temperature or too much air flow or a combination thereof.
