The principal factors affecting the design and operation of a diffused air system with particular reference to activated sludge thickening, are listed and discussed. The system components and advantages are also mentioned. This paper is concerned with the theory, application, selection and design of dissolved air flotation systems as applied to industrial and municipal wastes.
