Mathematical simulation of electromechanical transients in a linear step motor

A mathematical model has been developed for linear step motors (LSM) of various designs. In these motors there is no magnetic connection between phases. The calculation results on the developed programmes determine the electromechanical characteristics of LSMs both in the dynamic and steady-state modes as opposing force Pn and mass m increases, the variations of the electromechanical characteristics diminish. In a significantly larger degree these variations decrease as force Pn increases. The diminished inductance of phases and/or the improved coefficient for the boosting and the relative pulse duration of pulse power supply reduce an undesirable effect, that is the generation of electromagnetic forces by sections when they have no power supply.
