In-situ observation of bainite transformation and quality improvement of bainite steel

By means of hot-stage microscopy the in-situ observation of the austenite-bainite transformation has been carried out on 12CrMoWVTiB steel. The effects of prior austenite grain size, hot deformation and cooling rate on the transformation were investigated. According to the results observed, techniques to improve the quality of bainite steel are proposed.
