UPDATED COST FACTORS: COMMODITY MATERIALS.

Commodity or bulk materials includes such things as concrete foundations, piping and instrumentation. Associated with each equipment or commodity item is a labor component, which represents the workhours involved in setting the equipment or installing a commodity material. Costs for such things as earthwork, freight and indirect expenses are also accounted for. In this article, commodity-material cost factors, based on mid-1984 dollars, are presented for twenty-nine process equipment items.
