Shell International, The Hague, has conducted mechanical-resistance tests on reinforced high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe. Results confirmed the pipe's service pressure of up to 150 bar (2,175 psi) in temperatures of -30°C to 30°C. The pressure ranges vary with the number of reinforcement levels. At greater than 30°C, the service pressure must be reduced by 10 bar for each 10°C increase.
