摘要
Dynamic braking is known to be an effective method of augmenting transient stability limits. Results of analytical studies as well as of experimental studies on a micro-machine model of a power system are presented. A strategy with single fixed duration insertion of braking resistor has been successfully utilized. The stability limit for a transient three phase fault is found to be appreciably raised. Comparison between results obtained from analytical and experimental studies shows a fair degree of agreement and enhances confidence in their reliability.
