An anlysis is made of the free transverse vibrations of a system of two parallel prismatic beams of different geometries and physical properties connected by an elastic element consisting of a set of elastic rods positioned continuously along the beams. The effect of inertia of the elastic element on the vibrations of the beams is taken into account in the differential equations of motion of the system.
