Origin of the universe

The Minerva Lecture is the principal annual lecture of the Worshipful Company of Scientific instrument Makers and is always presented by an eminent authority (Minerva - Roman goddess of wisdom and good counsel). In recent years the lecture, which is open to all members, has been chaired by the institute's President. The 1993 Minerva Lecture was extremely interesting and informative, dealing with the conclusions reached form the results of applying modern scientific instrumentation to solving the ultimate questions - the origin of the universe.
