摘要
The purpose of this investigation was to study the transformations which take place under the action of gamma -radiation in a number of cellulose ethers containing both saturated (carboxymethyl, hydroxyethyl) and unsaturated (allyl, methacryloyl) groups. The latter are readily oxidized to form peroxy groups, which leads to the cross-linking or degradation of the ethers, depending on their structure. It is postulated that these processes would take place more intensely and more extensively under the effect of gamma -radiation.
