摘要
Several reports from utilities indicate that one of the main causes of premature failure of mixed dielectric power capacitors is due to the deterioration of capacitor dielectrics under the effect of over-voltages. This brief report covers some aspects of voltage transients experience in capacitors and the technique adopted for studying the influence of the most common mode of failure, i. e. , generation of partial discharges.
