摘要
Thick plates are obtained by hot-rolling slabs or ingots. The rolling process is generally divided into three phases, between which the blank is swivelled through 90 degree (levelling, rolling to the required width and rolling to the required thickness). Yield improvements of up to 50% can be achieved by optimized rolling schedules, the use of variable thickness profiles, installation of vertical stands, and 'diagonal' rolling.
