Mechanical properties of Al-Cu sintered alloys containing 0-10%Cu were investigated using ACP aluminum-copper composite powder) to obtain sintered alloys with properties most suitable for application as precision structural parts. The mechanical properties of the Al-5%Cu alloy were found to be superior to other sintered alloys and similar to or greater than iron and copper base sintered alloys. Al-5%Cu sintered alloy, of which the processing technology was improved, has been used successfully for precision structural parts of high speed printers and disk memory equipment.
