A review of some of the types of pumps used in the mining and mineral processing industry is presented, with mention of some recent technical developments. Major types discussed include rotodynamic, centrifugal, submersible and diaphragm pumps. Priming, casing design, fluid viscosity, sealing, cavitation and wear resistance of different pumps are also discussed.
