摘要
In this continuing series on partial discharge, the early history of research in this area is reviewed. Effective PD measurement and location technology was developed very quickly. While more sophisticated apparatus and techniques for measuring and locating PD are now available, some of the earliest and simplest techniques were quite effective. Later progress tended toward incremental improvements through application of new technology, as well as broadening of the range of phenomena covered by the field.
