A summary is presented of the enforcement of the Mattress Flammability Standard DOC FF 4-72, in the state of California, during the first twenty-four months of its implementation, covering the period from June 7, 1973 to June 6, 1975. An attempt is also made to assess the impact of this Standard upon the Bedding Industry.
