The design of a second-generation, chroma-processing integrated circuit is described together with its implementation into existing RCA solid-state modular color television receivers. Reasons for initiating this new design are discussed and a detailed explanation of the circuitry involved is presented. Performance characteristics of the first- and second-generation circuits are included.
