In the pellet plant operated by Kudremukh Iron Ore Company Ltd., Bangalore, India, the production process for green pellets has undergone ongoing optimization in recent years. The introduction of a roller press supplied by KHD Humboldt Wedag AG, Cologne has proved a crucial part of this optimization as this has increased the quality of the pellets as well as the plant's throughput rate. Since its commissioning at the end of 1998, the roller press has processed several hundred thousands of tonnes of pellet feed and is still operating with its original stud lining, demonstrating very high availability.
