A resume is one of your fundamental tools for career advancement. It is essentially an advertisement, promoting your qualifications for a specific job. While the resume, by itself, does not usually result in a job being offered, the role it plays is important. A resume is successful when it results in a job interview and consideration for a position. The job interview is your opportunity to follow through on the impression made by your resume and to convince the prospective employer that you should be hired.
