Zigbee, a potentially great way to save energy

The use of Zigbee, a wireless sensor device, that saves energy and increases worker productivity in chemical plants, is discussed. A Zigbee device is a single chip that carries its own batteries, and can run for a year on a charge. Zigbee can set up its own mesh network, can handle periodic and intermittent data, and runs on very little power. Honeywell is planning strategies for the use of this device as ma means to minimize power consumption.
