Reactions of methyl 4-oxooctadec-2(E)-enoate with hydrazine, phenyl hydrazine and tolylhydrazine provided pyrazoline derivatives in excellent yields. The structures of pyrazolines were established by IR, NMR and mass spectral analysis. These pyrazoline derivatives showed antifungal and antibacterial activities.
