摘要：
New technology has been developed over the last 10 years that can produce continuously annealed carbon-steel sheet with improved ductility. The new technology is more suitable for producing the uniform high-strength sheets (from relatively lean steel compositions) that are increasingly being required by automobile manufacturers. The metallurgy of the new technology is reviewed.
