Advances in stainless steel materials and the design of automotive exhaust systems have led to longer life cycles and extended warranties. The development of stainless steel metal-cored (SSMC) wires and their expanded use for welding these improved automotive exhaust systems. Information on manufacturing methods, core ingredients, available alloy types and application data are presented.
