The object of the investigation on the hydraulic test facility described was to determine and eliminate the effect of such sources of noise measurement error as background noise and reflected noise, especially in the drive systems. Individual tests were run with soundproof cowlings on the circuit components, e. g. centrifugal pump, suction and delivery lines, flow control and setting valves.
