Instruments for Measurements of Ultra High Voltages.

The present report describes the development, construction and testing of a test transformer for ultra-high AC voltages. The most important partial problems solved under this project were: Suitability for outdoor use due to the development of a ribbed insulating cylinder, calculation of the necessary screening electrode, low partial discharge intensity over the complete voltage range, high impulse withstand capability, for instance in the case of a steep voltage breakdown due to disruptive discharges on the test object, and generation of switching impulse voltages with test transformers.
