摘要：
The production of liquid fuels from forestry biomass has been proposed as a possible element in a national energy plan for diversification of liquid fuels supply away from a petroleum based sytem towards renewable energy resources. In this study the potential forestry resources are examined and the technology and economics of one process, wood-to-methanol via gasification, are presented. The economic viability of the process hinges on the cost of wood feedstock supplied to the plant and on plant scale.
