摘要
In the reported experiments, a study has been made of the density rho , heat capacity C//p, viscosity nu , and thermal conductivity lambda of two oil samples, Velocite L (GOST 1840-51) and Mobiltherm 594 (West Germany), which are widely used as heat transfer fluids. The experiments were performed over a temperature range of 20-300 degree C at atmospheric pressure. The principal physicochemical properties of the oils are listed. The oil densities were measured by hydrostatic weighing. The maximum relative error of the measurements was no greater than 0. 05%. The results obtained in these measurements are listed. Measuring data are tabulated and evaluated by means of mathematical equations. A comparison of the thermophysical and physicochemical characteristics of the Velocite L and Mobiltherm 594 oils shows that they are identical with the exception of viscosity properties, so that the imported heat transfer fluid can be replaced by the USSR-produced fluid for use in heat transfer devices.
