Welding stainless tanks at Hackman Wedholms AB

Hackman Wedholms is providing its customers with sophisticated tanks in stainless steel. They combine the company's high welding competence with machining, in manufacturing stainless components for demanding customers. The company has four divisions; process tanks and pressure vessels, transport tanks, milk cooling tanks, all three with their own design, and stainless steel components and modules fabricated on a sub-contracting basis. This paper describes the fabrication in stainless of process tank, pressure vessels and transportation tasks for the dairy, pharmaceutical, beverages and general foods industries. The adoption of laser welding to replace spot welding in the manufacture of evaporator tanks is also discussed.
