摘要
For many years, Management Information Systems (MIS's) have been used in nonmanufacturing environments for a variety of applications. This article explains how an MIS, based on contemporary operations techniques, is being used in a manufacturing environment on a series of packaging lines. When an automatic MIS replaces a manual system, this data can be measured directly from the packaging lines. Hourly matrix reports, shift summaries, and exception reports can be generated. The authors provide examples of them.
