摘要
The stress/strain behavior of thin-walled elastomer mouldings such as membranes or pipes can be calculated by means of the theory of rubber elasticity put forward by Mooney and Rivlin. Tests on cruciform specimens made of natural rubber, polyisoprene and silicone rubber showed that with biaxial stressing one material constant only is necessary for a simple design method. To check this method, a flat circular membrane inflated to a spherical calotte was used as a practical example.
