摘要
Effect of nitrogen pressure on fretting stability and surface microhardness of the coating was studied. Composition and structure of the coating influenced nature of its decomposition during friction. Decomposition of coating occurred through mechanism of fracture in case of nitrogen deficit. Coating wear occurred through oxidative mechanism in case of nitrogen pressure corresponding to formation of approximate stochiometric composition of titanium nitride. Fatigue mechanism of fracture was observed in coatings in case of friction alongside with oxidative one under nitrogen pressure corresponding to superstochiometric nitrogen content. Coating defects causing nucleation of fractures in case of fragile and fatigue mechanisms appeared to affect fracture formation in coatings in tests for fretting-corrosion.
