摘要
The fundamentals of pressure cycle analysis and its application as a forecasting system for engineering management planning are presented. Several interrelated aspects of pressure cycles as a tool for engineering managers, including forecasting, are reviewed. Pressure cycle analysis isolates the kind of economic growth and change that has a direct influence on the productivity of engineering organizations. Both the theoretical and the computational background is presented followed by a case study application of the technique within an engineering/consulting company. The four distinct phases of pressure cycle analysis are developed showing a set of distinct characteristics out of which should flow a number of engineering management decisions that represent action rather than mere reaction to economic growth and change.
