The system described consists of a prefabrication treatment involving blast cleaning all steelwork to BS 4232, 2nd quality. Immediately after this operation, the initial coating of Metalife organic metallic zinc was applied. This coating prevents corrosion. It contains highly reactive metal particles that are anodic even to the anodic areas of steel, and so immediately converts the total steel surface to cathode.
