A new charging technology was introduced with the startup of the second stage of the sinter plant at the Il'ich Zhdanov Metallurgical Combine in 1982. The technology includes delivery of the solid fuel at the end of the balling operation in amounts dependent on the operating indices of the sintering machine. The new technology reduces the amount of time the sintering machines are operated with an unsteady fuel consumption by a factor of more than ten.
