Post-dryout heat transfer mechanisms can be subdivided according to the fluiddynamic phenomena into three regions, namely dispersed flow heat transfer, film-boiling and transition boiling. A review of the literature - mainly of the last four years - shows that in the dispersed flow regime a reliable prediction of the heat transfer coefficient is possible due to a great number of experimental results and several physically based theoretical models.
