摘要：
An analytic method is developed to estimate the average running time for a job in a processor-sharing system, where the running time includes the delays caused from the execution of coexisting jobs. The processor-sharing mechanism is approximated by a finite number of pseudo processors called ″init″ . In the present treatment, Poisson arrival and exponential service time distributions are assumed. An integrated expression is given to obtain the average delayed job running time for three different types of systems.
