摘要
The nonlinear differential equations of motion of the journal centre obtained by the authors in a previous paper are used to study the stability of the state of equilibrium of the journal. Regions of stable and unstable work of the journal bearing are determined in terms of the eccentricity ratio and what is termed the dynamical parameter of the system. The curves separating the regions of stability and unstability of the system are determined for two varying parameters and shown in figures, which can be used for practical purposes.
