A study was made of the dependence of the rate of dissolution of ferrochrome in liquid steel on the temperature of the steel and the size of the pieces of ferrochrome. From the results of experimental melts in a 12-kg induction furnace correlation dependences for the rate of dissolution are obtained which make it possible to determine the quantity of dissolved ferrochrome at any moment of time and the time required for total dissolution of the ferrochrome for a given temperature and a given ferrochrome lamp size.
