摘要
The new system of packaging, the stick pack, is described which consists of a row of apples or other produce packaged end-to-end in a shrink-film overwrap. Two rows of fruit can be placed side-by-side to form a ″double stick,″ essentially, a tray pack without the tray. Packaging techniques and machine used are dealt with and economic considerations together with advantages are included in this report. Feasibility of the stick pack as an improved retail package and a promotion vehicle for Michigan apples has been investigated with favorable results.
