摘要
This article describes a prototype high speed data distribution network using the European Space Agency's Orbital Test Satellite. The link provides a 1 Mbit/s data channel between a number of regional computing centers with a b. e. r. of 10** minus **9 for 99. 3% of the time. Users access the satellite through small earth terminals and three-meter antennas located on their own premises.
