Simultaneous multiple-wavelength cw lasing in laser-diode-pumped composite rods of Nd:YAG and Nd:YLF

Simultaneous continuous-wave output was realized at 1064- and 1047-nm wavelength using two composite laser rods of Nd3+:YAG and Nd3+:YLF crystals, mounted together within a single laser diode-pumped virtual point source cavity. A 30 W output power was achieved under 150 W pump power, of which about 25% was from YLF at 1047 nm wavelength. By tilting one cavity mirror, simultaneous multiwavelength operation at 1064 and 1053 nm was also achieved. In addition, the potential of a simple bonding method by use of optical adhesive in low and middle power lasers was demonstrated.
