Copper staves in blast furnaces

Methods of cooling the blast furnace case have been considered. It has been shown that copper staves make it possible to reliably cool the furnace case in high-temperature zones. Advantages of the copper staves in comparison with cast iron stave have been shown. Formation of slag skull makes it possible to reduce heat losses. High service life of the copper staves is provided. Formation of cracks in case of arising the stresses is not observed.
