摘要
The investigation relates to the influence of the molecular interaction brought about by the presence of, and the ratio of, polar end groups in the molecules of copolymers of poly(triethyleneglycol maleate sebacate)s with styrene on various physicomechanical properties of the copolymers. It is found that with constant crosslink density the tensile strength of the copolymers in the glassy state increases with increase in the ratio of carboxyl to hydroxyl end groups. These results show the possibility of increasing the strength of polyester resins by regulating the ratio of carboxyl and hydroxyl end groups in the initial polyesters.
