摘要
Today's capital-intensive paint finishing systems represent a major investment for a manufacturer. These investments must be protected by operating and maintaining the equipment within design specifications. Correct operation and maintenance will increase uptime, help maintain production and minimize operating costs associated with breakdowns or lost production. Optimum paint system operation must be maintained for another reason: A paint system usually determines the rate of a plant's production throughput. Furthermore, if the paint line fails, production stops. A control monitoring system (CMS) is the best way to optimize painting system operation and performance. Continuous operation of a finishing system within design specifications will help ensure a quality painted product, whether an automobile, appliance or piece of furniture. For example, Haden Management recently installed an Allen-Bradley Vista 2000 system at the General Motors CPC Assembly Plant in Wilmington, DE. The system links 75 PLCs into a central system controller.
