Based on the study of diagenetic characteristics and petroleum system, this paper has summarized the diagenesis-pool forming model of the lower member of Dongying Formation (Dong-3 member) in the eastern slope area of Chengdao. The upper sandbody of the Dong-3 member formed reservoir during the subatage B of the early diagenetic stage (Guantao Formation). The early filling of oil and gas in the pore of sandstone restrained the diagenesis and preserved the primary pore. Now the sand body is in the late diagenetic stage A and associated with secondary pore, and is in the second pool formation period.
