摘要
An object-based architecture for the virtual operating system and database of the Ada Programming Support Environment is proposed that diverges from the strict capability-based access-control and directory system. It provides for composite objects as the primary hierarchical structuring, and by separating access-control into a capacity associated with the reference, and an access-control table associated with the target object. This new design combines the security and flexibility of the capability-based architecture, while retaining the user-friendliness and familiarity of the more conventional hierarchical file system.
