Generation of photon pairs using polarization-dependent two-photon absorption

A method for generating photon pairs from coherent light was proposed using polarization-dependent two-photon absorption. The photon statistics of two orthogonally polarized modes was studied by solving a master equation. The photon pairs were found to have the same frequency as that of the incident light.
